I love the dark and dangerous men.

You know the ones. They're freaking gorgeous, they wear a suit a boss and they have a terrifying capability about them that makes you certain there is NOTHING they can't - or haven't - done. Cross is such a man, the mysterious host of a shadowy club for organized crime monsters to "let down their hair" and have fun with other scary people.

Verity will always be my role model. She's been dealt a terrible round in life thus far, but that's not stopping her. Even when Cross catches her stealing a watch from some drunken swine and forces her into "an agreement," she's not going down without a fight. I will be honest and admit that if Cross proposed such an arrangement to me, I'd be screaming and offering to pay him. The man is that hot and you will swoon during every spicy moment between these two.

As much as I love Campbell's skill with smut, the devious plot and constant "wait, what just happened?" moments will keep you guessing until the very end. Double Cross is dark. Midnight in a coal mine dark. Prepare for that, but my god, this is good work!

The blurb talks about some kinda of revenge, but maybe we get there up in the book, but from what I've read I couldn't connect with the story nor did I find it interesting.
The H "spares" her after a mistake, because he was intrigued with her cleverness, fast thinking and "quick fingers"but ends up treating her as a whore. She is to be available to bend over his desk everytime he wants and that's exactly what happened, she simply bends over the table he sticks his thing, no foreplay, no conversation. It was all so flat, uninteresting that killed it for me...

The author could have made it the h was something more than a hole to fill.
The H could use her to spy around the club and the sexual tension could evolve from it...
