4.5 STARS | CHICAGO meets ALFRED HITCHCOCK in this insanely wild Hollywood novella! Fast and quick, it’s the first book in a new upcoming thriller series giving you the realization of who is trying to con you! The story follows Julie Simon oblivious when starting her new life in Hollywood and befriending three strangers who just seem to be regular normal people. But as she gets to know them more, a dark secret full of hate and insanity is discovered, and Julie may too become insane as well after hearing of it. A crazy but enjoyable book that satisfied me in the end!7 s Izzy174 5

4.5 ?? Omg I felt I was watching a movie on the investigation discovery channel wow. This chilling story was about a young girl named Julie Simon who was an aspiring actress. Julie was what we would call too nice, too forgiving and naive. Dumb honestly but hey a lot of people have been there before. This book is based on conniving friends, jealousy, doing whatever it takes for fame and making bad choices. Julie meets a beautiful rich girl named Roxy who seemed to be everything Julie wanted in a friend until she wasn’t……I really enjoyed it couldn’t put the book down. I gave it 4.5 ?? only because I wanted more and didn’t want it to end lol2 s Stephanie Maiers19

I really enjoyed this book! I had no idea where it was going and was completely surprised where it went. I loved the length of the book/novella. Definitely a cautionary tale of who to trust as a group of friends. I can’t wait for Hollywood Psycho the Luke Townsend Story! Great Thriller! 1 Deanna Keri89

I am not normally a thriller reader; I stick mainly to romance and romantic suspense. I won free copy from the author on TikTok and decided to widen my horizons. So I will start by saying, CHECK YOUR TRIGGER WARNINGS friends.

This book is a captivating story that follows the journey of Julie, a young woman (NA) from Missouri who follows her dream of becoming a renowned Hollywood actress. Set in the vibrant backdrop of Los Angeles in July 1993, the story takes unexpected twists and turns as Julie’s life intersects with a group of influential and well-connected twenty-somethings. And let me tell you the peer pressure, to fit in and be d is intense.

As Julie navigates her newfound friendships, she encounters questionable situations that should raise alarms. Yet, driven by her desire to fit in, she dismisses these warning signs. A night of celebration leaves her waking up in a random hotel room, her memory wiped clean. Fear and isolation grip her, and she turns to her closest confidante—the new best friend she trusts implicitly. My insides were screaming, run Julie, the whole time!

But this friend reveals a shocking truth: Julie cannot report the incidents that occurred, fearing it would tarnish her father’s reputation and jeopardize her chances of landing a coveted movie role. It’s another situation that should never have been overlooked, come on girl, where is your sense of self-preservation!?!

When Julie discovers her romantic interest entangled with her supposed best friend, she reaches her breaking point. The life she once desired in LA no longer holds allure. Yet, fate has other plans. Instead of leaving as planned, Julie finds herself drawn back into the group she thought she couldn’t live without.

Then, she gets a mysterious call that beckons her to an unlit hiking trail in the Hollywood Hills. There, Julie faces a situation beyond her control—one that will propel her toward the fame she’s always craved, but in a way she never could have imagined. Let me tell you the ending sucked the wind out of me and left me reeling for a few days. I needed time to digest before I wrote my review. How do you review something this and not give away major plot points? Chrissy77 4

Starting off by saying this is my thoughts, I can only be honest.

This was a interesting novella. There were parts I d and some I didn't. First with the short diss. This book was promising. I know its a novella but I've read books that nailed it within the short book. For me, I wish there was more concept behind what was going on with Julie. There was so much, yet so little details besides being told it happened. I do not feel it wasn't executed well. Another unlikable thought was how much it was said that Roxy was her best friend. There was no need to keep knowing this because I can sense where the story was leading me too.

Now to talk about Julie. I when a book can bring me in my feels even when I dis certain parts of the character. Julie bought that out of me so well. This girl was beyond gullible. I get she was from a small town but come on, She just could not see where this group of "friends" were leading her. She wanted so much to be loved and fit it that she was lead blindly into her demised. I wanted to be there to protect her. Plus her falling in love with an asshole way too fast without a proper getting to know him just because he said a few words to her and calling her "his girl" a day after meeting her without the proper conversation. I needed her actual friends Jeffery and Dawson to come through. Let the girl know exactly what she was getting herself into. She did not need to learn the hard way.

This was a nice read for what it was. It gave me a mean girl kind of movie where you have rich group of friends and a new girl come to town. Then shit happens. I do enjoy watching movies this. This is where my three stars came from. I enjoyed that.
