Sinopsis

This is the first time I read a book from Argentinian and Jewish author Marcelo Birmajer. The book is composed of a dozen short stories with the same leading character and narrator, Mossen, an Argentinian Jewish author, married with 2 children, with limited success. Some of the stories are about the Argentinian Jewish community and others are about other subjects. The author always starts with the leading character and narrator telling one aspect in time of his life and then he tells a story he heard from somebody about another person. Therefore, the book is composed of a short story within a story. It is original. It contains humour and self-derision. The common theme is about women. The stories are all contemporary and set in the 2nd half of the 20th century and early 21st century.

The book is a good easy read during vacation time. south-america Pep Bonet801 27
