I Loved Loving Smoke

I have to say that this author never pulls any punches because she give me steam, rawness to her characters, suspense, thrills and so much more. Smoke got himself into some deep trouble with the MC so when the Prez came knocking it wasn’t for good reasons and Smoke and his VP were sent to Tijuana to clean up some business with a cartel. To say that they were starting at the bottom was an understatement.

Smoke and Blood knew of the underhandedness of their target, Rico, and seemed to stay one step ahead of him but Rico was working Smoke without him realizing it at first. Smoke’s weakness was women so when Rico sent his daughter, Marisol, in to get info she was reluctant at first. It was said that the RBMC were the ones that gunned down her mother.

There are so many surprises and twists and turns in the book that my head was spinning and I couldn’t but it down because I HAD to find out what was really going on. I loved the characters in the RBMC Tijuana Chapter and I can’t wait to see what comes next.

nearly perfect, but not quite

Good solid read. Fairly fast paced plot, with a decent amount of spice.

My only complaint was how the dual first person POV was set up. Now I love dual POV in first person, but when you are switching POV’s you need to give some indication it’s happening, especially if both POV’s are happening in the same chapter. What we needed was a simple name at the beginning of the chapter stating if it was Smoke or Marisol’s POV (or directly after the break if the change was happening was within the same chapter). What we got was nothing indicating who’s POV it was so in most instances it took at least half a sentence (if not a full sentence or more) to determine who’s POV we were reading. 1 Ally Doby(Schleicher)884 11

I was so excited when Barbara Nolan announced that she was joining the Royal Bastards MC collection! I love the Royal Bastards MC books and I was not disappointed with this one.

I loved Smoke and Marisol. Their chemistry was palpable from the start and the tension was on point. There was the perfect amount of steam, drama and suspense with this one.

For this being the first time that Barbara Nolan did a book in dual first person POV, she did a great job. There were some places that were still in third person POV, so I used my KU to see if it was fixed and it wasn’t. But it will be an easy fix. I would also recommend (or preferred) that at the beginning of Smoke or Marisol’s section of view, their names be added so we know who’s POV we are in, especially with both views being in one chapter.

Regardless, I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait for more of this series. I’m excited to see where Mrs. Nolan takes this series. I was provided an advanced readers copy. These thoughts and opinions are my own.arc-1 chesirern310 13

Loving Smoke (RBMC Book1) by Barbara Nolan is a MC romance. I am always excited to get my hands on one of these books especially if they have a great plot and romance. This one did not disappoint. I loved the world building and how interesting the plot was. It was cool to read about a biker that messes up and now has to work to redeem himself. The romance between Smoke and Marisol is steamy and complicated. You can not help to cheer them on.
I am excited to follow this new book series and can not wait for more books to come out. Great job to the author!1 Mylene Williams1,175 18

3.75stars-LOVING SMOKE is the first instalment in Barbara Nolan’s contemporary, adult RBMC: TIJUANA MX erotic, MC romance series-a part of the multi-authored RBMC series. This is RBMC: Tijuana MX president Smoke, and Marisol Marquez’ (Sandoval) story line.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Smoke and Marisol) LOVING SMOKE follows in the wake the banishment of Smoke as president of the RBMC: San Diego. A DEA government raid on the San Diego club house sent the members into a tailspin, and Smoke was voted out for his lack of control and inability to take charge. Along with his VP and friend Blood, Smoke was demoted and banished to Tijuana Mexico, in the hopes of starting a new chapter of the RBMC. A rundown bar and strip club was all Smoke and Blood had to their names, and the hiring of bartender Marisol Marquez drew Smoke a moth to a flame but all is not well in Tijuana Mexico, a corrupt city run by the Mexican Cartel, and Smoke was about to get caught in the crossfire of someone seeking vengeance for sins of the past. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Smoke and Marisol, and the potential fall-out when Smoke discovers a plant, someone seeking to destroy our story line hero.

The world building focuses on the new start and new life of Blood and Smoke. The rebuild of a strip club and bar is a new beginning for a new chapter of the RBMC but the Mexican Cartel is demanding their share, a share that comes with a caveat, and threats to their lives.

The relationship between Marisol and Smoke begins as boss and employee but a relationship predicated upon a number of lies. Marisol is not whom she claims to be, and in the betrayal tears Smoke to his very soul. The $ex scenes are erotic and provocative.

We are introduced to several colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters-the premier members of the RBMC: Tijuana: Smoke’s VP Blood, Enforcer Bolt, Club secretary Ricky, treasurer (and Marisol’s brother) Manny, and prospect Diesel. The requisite evil has many faces.

LOVING SMOKE is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power and control, family and relationships, acceptance and love. The premise is dramatic and edgy ; the characters are animated and stubborn; the romance is raw and real

If you’re looking for a steamy, suspense-filled rollercoaster of a read, Barbara Nolan’s "Loving Smoke" is where you want to be! This book hooked me from page one and didn’t let go until the very end. Seriously, I devoured it in two days flat—I just couldn't put it down!
From the moment Smoke and Marisol cross paths, the chemistry is off the charts. Nolan masterfully blends just the right amount of heat, drama, and suspense to keep you on the edge of your seat. And let’s talk about that name—"Smoke." It’s sexy, mysterious, and totally fits his unpredictable, fire-starting persona.
I’m a huge fan of dual POVs, and while I loved getting inside both Smoke and Marisol’s heads, I did find it a bit confusing at times, especially when the perspective shifted mid-chapter. A little more clarity on who’s narrating would make the ride smoother. Plus, there were moments where the third-person POV popped up unexpectedly, which felt a bit jarring. Cleaning that up would make an already great story even better!
Now, let’s get to the characters. Smoke is hands down my favorite. Watching a biker who’s messed up big time try to redeem himself is as compelling as it gets. There’s something about a bad boy on a bike trying to get his life together that’s just irresistible. And yes, the bike is sexy. Everything about the bike is sexy. Smoke was ousted for his lack of control and now has to prove himself all over again, and you can’t help but root for him every step of the way.
Marisol is a fantastic character—fierce, determined, and full of secrets. I’m a sucker for a good secrets-and-lies plot, and this one hit the spot. Marisol’s hidden agenda adds a delicious layer of tension, and when the truth comes out, it hits Smoke right in the gut. The betrayal is intense and makes for some seriously gripping reading.
And oh, the spice! It’s sizzling, perfectly written, and sure to get your heart racing. Barbara Nolan knows how to turn up the heat in all the right ways.
I can’t wait to dive into the next book in this series. If it’s anything "Loving Smoke," I know I’m in for another wild ride. If you’re into dark, edgy romances with a dash of danger, don’t miss this one! Rebel Devlin209 6

Loving Smoke is the 1st MC book of Barbara Nolan's that I've read. I'm so glad she has joined the Royal Bastards MC with the Tijuana, Mexico chapter. This one is an enemies-to-lovers age-gap romance with a lot of twists, steamy romance, and throw the cartel in for good measure. This chapter is definitely off to a good start.
Smoke has an addiction to the party life and women. That is a for sure problem when your national president Jameson shows up at your clubhouse and banishes you to Tijuana to fix your mess. No surprise that Smoke doesn't learn his lesson from this. The club's enemy that he's supposed to be fixing issues with is not interested in the slightest. That just starts a back-and-forth between the two to see who can get the upper hand first. When it comes to this Smoke is actually succeeding until he gets distracted again.
Marisol Sandoval is the daughter of the club's cartel enemy Rico Sandoval. Rico has blamed the Royal Bastards for his wife's death and Marisol has never gotten over it. She wants them to pay as much as her dad and agrees to go undercover to help take Smoke down once and for all. Marisol is a very loyal girl and smart as a whip but all her book smarts do not prepare her for the life she enters. Thinking she could stay objective was just her 1st mistake. Will she make another one when she has to pick sides?
I gave this a 5-star rating and a 4-spicy rating. I just loved Smoke and his personality. He is the ultimate screw-up that you can't help but root for. Marisol was the perfect accompaniment to Smoke's character. Having his VP Blood with him is a definite plus since it seems he's the only one who can keep Smoke focused on the reason they were sent to Mexico in the first place. I hope we see more with this chapter.

Loving Smoke was a great introduction to the new RBMC Tijuana chapter.

Having let his club down, former president of the San Diego chapter Smoke and his VP Blood are banished to Tijuana to clean up their acts, sort out some problems in Tijuana, and prove themselves to the RBMC. I loved watching them moan and grumble about where they found themselves and be so desperate to prove themselves and get away from Tijuana, only to see them refuse to want to leave and start a new chapter of the MC by the end. Most of the MC books I've read have been about fully established chapters, so it was refreshing to see a new chapter start and get to learn about all the new members organically.

Smoke's weakness is pretty women, and he sure gets that in Marisola. She's absolutely perfect for him, and there's an instant spark between them and some brilliant chemistry. There's just one problem: she's hiding a secret from him. She's acting on behalf of her father, the local cartel boss and rival of the RBMC Rico, to get inside information and destroy the RBMC from the inside out. However, Marisola soon learns that her loyalty is on the wrong side and that she's been lied to by the one she trusted the most. Torn between her feelings for Smoke and her loyalty to her family, we get to see her really come into her own and grow as she delves into the dark and dirty world of her father's business and comes out kicking and screaming (literally).

Having seen snippets of the new members Ricky, Manny, and Diesel, as well as the involvement of Blood, I can't wait to see what happens next for the Tijuana chapter and what more trouble they can get themselves into. If the first book is anything to go by, we can expect drama, danger, and a whole lot of spice!

This is the first book that I have read by this author and I hope that it won't be the last.

When Smoke, President of the San Diego chapter of the Royal Bastards MC club, took his eye off the ball all hell broke loose, he was called back to the clubhouse to be met by the Jameson, the National Chapter President, and Blood, his own VP and the only one to escape the raid. Furious Jameson was shutting down the San Diego chapter and the only option that he gave Smoke and Blood was to open shop in Tijuana, Mexico, the main purpose being to keep an eye on ultra wealthy cartel boss Rico Sandoval, a nasty piece of work who had falsely accused the Royal Bastards of killing his wife'

Smoke and Blood were less that happy at this arrangement, their headquarters were to be The Golden Tropics, a filthy, falling to pieces, strip club.

Determined to make a success of this venture, gain back their reputations and return to the US, Smoke and Blood turned the club around, it was now a popular place to visit and it had caught the eye of Rico Sandoval.

Smoke wanted to strike a deal with the cartel boss but the cartel boss didn't play by the rules.

Would the new, beautiful, sexy barmaid take Smokes eye of the ball once again ? Can the steamy romance between Smoke and Marisol survive ?

This book is action packed and suspense filled, it twists and turns, there is subterfuge, misplaced loyalty and it also gives a glimpse into the MC chapters, their rules, their loyalty and their ruthlessness.

I received a free copy of this book and my review is voluntary Diane2,286 18

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "LOVING SMOKE" Another awesome RBMC'S Romance full of intense riviting drama, secrets, lies, betrayal, action, angst, violence, danger, steamy scenes, twists & surprises that keeps you turning the pages.
Smoke is a RBMC member who screws up so badly it brings the National Chapter President Jameson out thoroughly p**ssed off, banishing him & his VP Blood to a beat up strip club in Tijuana to take on Rico Sandoval the Mexican Cartel for messing with their supply of guns & start a new Chapter in Tijuana Mexico with Bolt as their Enforcer, Ricky Club Secretary, Manny who is Marisols brother as treasurer & Prospect Deisel.
Rico knows how to get to Smoke his love of women, sending his daughter Marisol Sandoval to get info from him,he hires her as bartender she's gorgeous, hot, messing with his head, she's angry her father Rico's Cartel business is what got her mother killed, so she wants revenge on RBMC that was responsible.
I definitely recommend to get this well written journey Marisol & Smoke take you their chemistry is scorching hot, what will he do when he finds she not who she claims be, can these two get a HEA, so much happens it's a must read to see how it all turns out.
AWESOME DARK RIVITING MC ROMANCE A PAGE TURNER TO THE END
