All is not what it seems.

Book 7 of the Heather Chase series may not be as action packed as its predecessors; however, it doesn’t suffer from a lack of interesting characters, double dealing, or just outright corporate espionage. Once again Heather and Bob are on the hunt for the conman they have hunted in the previous books, except this time they must do things without the aid of their technological system.

Of all the Heather Chase books, I found myself unwilling to put this book down, simply because I had to know if they got their man or if he/she would slink off back into the shadows yet again. Additionally, is it possible this conman is aligned with C, or is it possible they are one and the same?

For the answers to those questions, you will have to read the book for yourself. If you are new to the Heather Chase series, do yourself a favor and start from the beginning. While I’m sure you could read Sleeping Secrets as a stand-alone book, having all the previous backstory and context would make it a much richer and more enjoyable reading experience. I received an Advance Reader Copy of Sleeping Secrets from the author and chose to provide my review. Jeffrey Aitken74 2

A Riveting Dive into White-Collar Crime

A captivating story in the Heather Chase FBI Series, focusing on pursuiting a cunning conman and his plan to sabotage a groundbreaking sleep drug.

Special Agent Heather Chase, recently demoted but undeterred, immerses herself in the intricate world of white-collar crimes.

As the stakes rise and time ticks away, Chase faces the challenge of unmasking a conman’s true identity and thwarting his scheme before it’s too late.

It tells of the shadowy realm of white-collar crime. Offering a glimpse into the complexities of financial intrigue and undercover investigations. The theme of deception permeates the narrative, challenging Chase to navigate a web of lies and outsmart a mastermind.

The book delivers a crafted crime fiction novel that captivates from the first page to the last. The woven plot, authentic characters, and writing style make this instalment a standout addition to the Heather Chase FBI Series.

"Sleeping Secrets by A W Kaylen" is a must-read for fans of hard-boiled thrillers and white-collar crime. Kara Marks326 70

This is the 7th book in this series; I’ve read most of the other books in this series, although out of order. This book stands alone very well, though. Heather Chase, a unique FBI agent, is a great main character. She and her special data analysis unit have been unfairly broken up, and she and an older agent, Bob, have received a lateral transfer to white collar crime—not their choice of assignment, but they’ll give their all wherever they’re assigned. Using her special skills of observation, deduction and intuition, she’s going to pursue a virtually invisible con man. There’s a focus on the pharmaceutical industry and illegal practices, all written skillfully, and the story is absorbing. I can definitely recommend this book and series; I was provided an arc, which I really appreciate, but these opinions are my own. Stephen65 1 follower

Kicking off with a coordinated aggravated assault, we're back into Heather Chase's FBI adventures with a bang. She's been bumped across to White Collar Crime since we last saw her and isn't exactly enamoured of the change. Then, a cold case suddenly turns rather hot again...
Meanwhile, a new non-addictive anti-insomnia drug is about to hit the 1st phase of clinical trials in humans...
Things will intersect and cons will be run, and just maybe Mr X will make an appearance.
Another very enjoyable book from AW Kaylen with her returning star turn in Heather Chase. What's more, there's far less rain this time around! Plus with lines "The moment stretched the seat of a fat guy's pants", you know you're on to an effortless winner!.

A.W. Kaylen has come up with a truly horrific scenario in “Sleeping Secrets”. What if Medical Research on a new, revolutionary medicine was being sabotaged for greed & power? Fiction?

FBI Agent Heather Chase and her partner are charged to hunt down a conman who cons his way into Corporate America with the intent to steal Industrial Secrets for the millions it will yield.

Not only does Chase have to trap the conman and gather enough evidence to convicted, but she has to do this under a new Supervisory Agent who has nothing but contempt for Chase’s FBI record & her skills.

“Sleeping Secrets” will keep you wondering is this fiction or is it really going on now? You be the judge.

A star FBI investigator and her team are assigned to investigate the world of pharmaceutical sleeping pills test. She is not on good terms with her superiors but her reputation is very solid and she doesn’t quit until she has solved her assignment. A researcher is taken in by some very skilled cons but trying to figure out just what the end game is will put her team in some dangerous situations. Will this be the one case she can not solve? It will take everything she has to stop the cons and keep her team safe. I really enjoyed this character and look forward to reading more about her. A strong woman lead is great!.

I think this was my favorite book in the series. It's Heather Chase at her best. She's still working with Bob, although without SET and their recent transfer to White Collar Crimes division. There are a few references to some of the previous books in the series, but this can be read as a stand-alone story. Lots of action, close calls, good investigative skills, undercover work and more. This time they are fighting against a conman who has been in action for many years. His newest scheme is to get his hands on a new sleep aid and selling it to the highest bidder. Will Agent Chase be able to solve what is going on in time to stop it???? Read and find out.

Heather and Bob are on the search for an elusive conman. Their search leads them right into the middle of drug research and development. Who would have thought that trying to get a new drug on the market could be so cut-throat! Heather is an awesome FBI agent who jumps headlong into any investigation with the only thought being to take the bad guys down even if she doesn’t always go by the book. Bob is her partner and a little more laid back but he always has Heather’s back! I love these characters and always end up so deeply engrossed in these books that I just can’t put them down! I can’t wait to see what happens in the next one! Lisa1,181 2

Love This Series!
I the suspense. We read from both the victim and the bureau’s perspective to understand the full narrative. Mr X is a con who specializes in information or money and this heist involves a research scientist Ronald Alden who designed a sleeping aid that’s secret (hence the title) until FDA-approved human trials. Mr X is going under the pseudonym of Nicholas Taylor with his “cousin” Gwen who isn’t who she claims. Heather is brilliant in keeping the innocent out of harms way and catching the corrupt. I do how each book title is relevant to that specific crime investigation.

My mind was blown, and I was gobsmacked after reading this. I kept processing and rethinking this, and I'm still stunned. Why do criminals always think they're the only one with a brain?? They think they're smarter than everyone else in the game. They never think anyone will catch them or think anyone is smarter than they are. The threads of deciet were so tightly woven to cover up power abd greed.
My favorite part is when the criminal finds out they're outmanuvered. Many people are smarter than they are. Lol. Michael Heidle210 2

Heather Chase is back with a new assignment, a bit of a different scope than previous reads in the series giving this volume a bit of a different vibe (not in a bad way). Dealing with SEC and corporate issues is a bit more of a read, yet the book doesn't get bogged down in the weeds. The twists and turns of the plot do not disappoint, nor does the characterization. This is another very good read in the Heather Chase FBI Series.

Phenomenal mystery.

Wow, another phenomenal mystery as Heather Chase investigates a conman. Having lost access to the high-powered computer programs, Heather and her partner, Bob, are forced to investigate with intuition and old school techniques. I was blown away by the intensity of the action and the investigation. A well written and incredible mystery that I loved.

If you FBI thriller stories, you will love this. Heather takes on a conman, trying to track him/her down when no one else has been able to yet. Throw in big pharma with a "new" sleep medication and studies, who knows what's going to happen. Excellent story, fast paced and suspenseful. Definitely worth the time to read it!.

A cure for insomnia

What a great read. The plot was so very different from anything I’ve read before. Heather Chase is just an awesome example of an fbi agent and I love the relationships (or on occasion) lack of relationship she has with certain individuals. McEnery is a great partner with a penchant for a screwup but again he adds so much to this story. I thoroughly enjoyed it. What an author.

Heather Chase, smarting from her demotion, dives into her work with the White Collar Crimes division. Someone is trying to sabotage the development of a sleep aid pill and it's up to her to find out the truth even if it means using a con to trap a conman. This story started a little rough but ended up better in the end. There is plenty of action as she tries to sort out the mystery before her.

Heather has been re-assigned. Along with Bob but without their computer system they are forced to investigate the old fashioned way. Trying to find a conman who wants to destroy a company that may have found a cure for insomnia puts Heather on the front lines once again. With the help of an old friend Tom McEnry, Heather manages the impossible, but is this conman the mysterious Mr. X? Read to find out! Bren1,153 8

The series gets more exciting with each volume. In Sleeping Secrets, Heather faces off against a con man running a complex scheme that will net him millions. As usual, the writing is excellent, the plotting tight, and the storyline fast-paced and thrilling. I highly recommend Sleeping Secrets and the entire Heather Chase series. Sandy T436

A different take on an elaborate con scheme especially once Heather Chase is on con man Mr. X's trail. This was a page turner with several different elements, psychological, big pharmaceutical, adventure, police procedures and the almighty good vs evil drama. Another excellent book in this exciting series. Enjoy!.

Heather Chase is the epitome of an FBI agent, and I love the relationship (or lack of relationship) she has with certain people.

I loved this well-written mystery with drama, secrets, undercover work, violence, and con artists. The MCs are defined, intuitive, intelligent, and hard-working, but the supposed promotions they received are anything but. I enjoyed this entertaining and engaging book.
