This was such a entertaining book. Thank you Ms. Fraser for writing a book with characters that were enjoyable that had a good solid storyline in an arranged marriage/revenge trope. You offered a unique twist to this story and provided a MMC that was manly enough to wait until the MFC wanted to engage in a sexual relationship. Cameron is rough around the edges, but has a heart of gold.

I loved Cameron and Morana's story. Both come from different crime families, each with different backstories thrown together so the MacTavish Mafia could finally put an end to the two Russian Bratva's that are behind the massive sex trafficking ring of children and women. The author did a good job providing both Cameron and Morana a solid backstory. The Scottish banter and lively conversations between our two characters was so entertaining as they navigate a slippery slope. Morana is forced to marry Cameron after he kidnaps her from a wedding to a Bratva monster. Daddy dearest is selling his only commodity, i.e., (Morana) to gain position and leverage in his sex trafficking ring.

Cameron initially believes Morana to be a Russian spoiled princess, only to find out she is anything but. As the story unfolds and as he gets to know Morana, the truth of her upbringing is brought out and slowly the two characters begin to build a love story and a relationship. Morana is the kind of MFC that I love. She is strong, funny, smart and engages in delightful banter throughout the entire book going toe to toe with Cameron. Their sexual antics as well as his strong sexual proclivities were well done; enough but not too much.

There is so much going on during the time that the two main characters are getting to know one another that builds as the story progresses. There is plenty of twists and turns that put our couple in danger. The dance of one step forward and two steps backward plague our couple because Morana believes that she brings (her name means death) bad luck to Cameron and his Mafia.

I haven't enjoyed a couple this much in this genre in quite sometime. They both possess the right amount of dark vs., light. humor vs., sadness and a well deserved ending.

Such a great story.2 s1 comment DKH77 2

Cameron and Morana

What starts out as a kidnapping, and forced marriage, turns into something so much more. Two people who don’t trust each other or even each other, grow to be perfect for each other. Great characters as always written by Ms Fraser, in a story that will keep you on your toes. I highly recommend this book, the first of her new series. Check out her other equally great books as well.2 s Brittany Trynor401 24

Relentless by Arianna Fraser is Book 1 of The MacTavish Stolen Brides Series. This is the story of Cameron and Morana. Morana is the daughter of a Russian Bratva Pahkan who is a awful man trying to marry her off as a pawn. Cameron who is the younger brother of Cormac MacTavish who was in the Ares Academy series. Cameron is out for revenge and thinks by kidnapping Morana it the way to get that revenge. Enjoyed this book and excited to read the next one in this series.

This book begins a new series, but it’s in the same world as Fraser’s other mafia novels, so some characters overlap into this book, as a Venn diagram or social network map of,the various series would show clearly. This volume focuses on a MacTavish, a younger brother of Cormac MacTavish who we met in the Ares Academy series, who kidnaps Morana, the unhappy daughter of a despicable Russian Bratva Pahkan on the day of her forced marriage to another despicable (and very old) Russian Bratva Pahkan. Morana doesn’t realize it, but of course we can guess that this is going to be the best thing that ever happened to her.

There is danger, kidnapping, shooting, an explosion (of course, Arianna Fraser has never written a book without an explosion), a cat named Bad Cat, a mysterious butler, lots of despicable bad guys, humor, pathos, romance, hot sex, lots of weddings (perhaps more than any couple really needs).

It’s not very realistic, but then it’s not a realistic genre. The main thing that strikes me as unly, and it’s a theme in Fraser’s books, is that her men never engage in human trafficking, despise syndicates that do, and will wage war on those syndicates because they engage in human trafficking. This is highly commendable, but I find it difficult to believe. I think it more ly that most criminals don’t really care. In this case, she gives them a stronger motivation; the Bratva they are targeting had once kidnapped a MacTavish daughter, who was rescued but has been severely traumatized by the experience. So there is a personal reason behind the MacTavish vendetta against Morana’s family. This I can believe. But a wholesale disgust for those criminal organizations that engage in human trafficking, on the part of these romanticized criminal organizations, which is the norm in Fraser’s universe, well, it’s just not very ly.

I can still enjoy Fraser books, this one being no exception, and I think you will too.

Morana Ivanova may hate me, but the harder she fights, the more I want her.

Cameron...?When the Ivanov Bratva kills my best friend in a moment of viciousness and stupidity, I decide to hit them where it hurts. Their Pakhan is depending on his daughter's marriage to a more powerful bratva to save his family.?So, I steal her.

Morana...
My name means "death" in Russian, and everyone in my father's Bratva avoids me as bad luck, until he decides to marry me off to a hideous old Pakhan for money and power. Getting kidnapped right out of the church in my wedding dress just continues that run of misfortune. But my captor is tall, gorgeous and infuriating. He's relentless when it comes to getting what he wants, but I'm going to change his luck for the worse, too.

We'll see what wins this battle: love, or luck.

This is the first book in “The MacTavish Stolen Brides Series” and I cannot wait for book two. The story definitely starts a little differently than normal, with the bride-to-be being kidnapped from her wedding, being thrown over Cameron’s shoulder and jumping out a two story window
