5? Compelling, Addictive, Passionate and Sexy and I didn't want it to end!

Her Majesty's Temporary Bride by Annie West, is my very first encounter with Annie's writing and I have to say I'm excited for more!

This book oozed Passion, sizzling Chemistry, Lust, Secrets, Lies, Family Drama, Forbidden Affairs, Royalty, Danger and I absolutely LOVED It!!

Cat has a big big secret, what that secret is I'm not about to divulge!

But what I will say is Cat ends up impersonating Princess soon to be Queen Amelie.

But what she doesn't plan for is the very sexy King Alex walking into her life and flipping it upside down.

Right from the very first meeting when Cat and Alex met on the boat they undressed each other with their eyes.
There was an instant sexual chemistry and Alex was not about to let her go!

Secret liaisons and the ever-growing burning sexual tension between them was mounting up.
Alex just had to devour Cat and he was going to stop at nothing to get her into his bed!

I adored Cat she was very endearing.
She has had an abusive, bullying upbringing which has left her scarred and vulnerable. So she puts up this barrier as she feels she will never be good enough.
It takes such bravery to go back to the place that holds such miserable and fragile memories.

Alex too is a broken soul, he is open, honest and wears his heart on his sleeve.
He too has had a tough upbringing.
Despite being royalty his father was a manipulative, deceitful, mean, uncaring and vile.
He is determined to make sure he is nothing his father.

Cat and Alex truly are Kindered Spirits inside and outside the bedroom. I loved watching the spark between them ignite.

Her Majesty's Temporary Bride is sizzling hot!
But it's more than that it was a very compelling and heartwarming read, with a Cinderella Feel.
But don't be fooled by that it has plenty of Lust and Sex to make even Cinderella Sexy!

Do I recommend this book..... without a doubt...... 100% ....... YES!!!

The perfect read for those wanting a  short Addictive sexy read, that has Romance, Sex, Lust, drama, emotion and fantastic characters.

I received this book as part of the Mills and boon insider team. In which I voluntarily reviewed.

My favourite troupe is Cinderella and MS West written one of the best I have read in a while, this story is a beauty so much love and openness when a heroine who has kept secrets close to her heart finds the one man who she can trust and open up to but really he is a King who does not cope with deception and she is right in the middle of a deception to help someone she has never met but feels close to.

Cat Dubois is the illegitimate daughter of royalty but her life was never anything royal she grew up with a step father who resented her and showed her with his bullying ways as soon as she can she moves away from St Galla to The States and makes a life for herself as a bodyguard, so when she is asked to go to St Galla to help with a situation with her half- sister Princess Amelia she reluctantly goes but she has a lot to learn and when she meets the King of Bengaria Alex well her heart flutters and she is drawn to him no other man before.

Alex has been invited to St Galla, in the hope that he will marry Princess Amelia and that is one thing he has no intention of doing but he needs a holiday after working so hard after taking over the reins as King from his cruel father and arrives on his yacht, there he meets a beautiful woman who turns out to be Princess Amelia or is she whoever she is he cannot deny for long the sexual pull that sparks between them.

Alex and Cat have a very sensual journey to a HEA it is moving and heart-warming and the sparks fly and the secrets are unveiled, I fell for Alex as soon as I met him he is gorgeous and caring and Cat wow what a heroine beautiful inside and out and these two are meant to be together the epilogue is gorgeous. MS West has such a seductive voice for her stories they pull me in from page one and I donÂ’t want to put them down and I canÂ’t highly recommend them enough if you want to be swept off to a land that brings magic to our lives. I loved this story thank you MS West.

5 Words: Attraction, secrets, family, obligation, goodness.

I actually enjoyed this a lot. It hit every trope I was expecting, and stayed away from those that make me uncomfortable.

I loved the passion between Cat and Alex, and how even they found their instant attraction a bit ludicrous. This isn't love at first sight. Despite the situation, Cat stays headstrong and savvy throughout. She has a huge heart and a kind soul and was a delight to read.

This is a pretty quick read, as the pace is driven a lot by the characters and their passion. The political intrigue that you would expect takes a back seat, and that suits me just fine.

I want more of Cat and Alex's story!9 s Nas Dean822 39

HIS MAJESTYÂ’S TEMPORARY BRIDE by author Annie West is a Harlequin Presents release for October 2017.

This is Book 1 of Annie West’s mini-series ‘The Princess Seductions’.
Book 2 is ‘The Greek’s Forbidden Princess’—release date November 2017.

Cat Dubois is a bodyguard and when a princess goes missing, she is hired to impersonate her. What no one knows is that the princess is Cat’s half-sister. And if impersonating her means, deceiving her would-be fiancé, Cat wanted out. But on meeting King Alex, she discovers she is passionately attracted to him.

Would King Alex still be there when he finds she is not a princess but an imposter? Would Alex take kindly to being deceived?

HIS MAJESTY’S TEMPORARY BRIDE is a thrilling story which would keep a reader glued to the pages till the end. Author Annie West, once again brought a strong heroine in Cat and a swoon-worthy hero in Alex alive on the pages. I was enthralled by this story and the setting—a pink palace and our heroine living the life of a princess in it. And I’m looking forward to the second book in this mini-series to find out what happens to Amelie, the missing princess.

Highly recommended for all readers of romance.

Lantas mengapa Amelie menghilang? Jawabannya ada di buku #2 dari series ini.baca-pinjam e-book fiction ...more2 s Melody Cox1,499 165

His Majesty's Temporary Bride is the first book in Annie West's The Princess Seductions series.

Cat Dubois grew up with a bully for a stepfather, she got away from him and her home as soon as she possibly could and trained in self-defence. She excelled at it and became a most sought-after bodyguard. It's in that role that she is employed to be a body double for Princess Amelie who unknown to most is her half-sister. They look so a that it will be easy for her to impersonate the Princess. She doesn't understand why the Princess won't attend a function that it's vital she is present at, but Cat agrees to attend in her place.

King Alex has spent the few years since becoming King trying to fix huge mistakes his father had made while running the country. He could still do with a huge injection of money, but he'll be damned if he is forced to marry somebody he doesn't know in order to get that money. The function that Cat is to attend is the very one that Alex is supposed to attend in order to meet Princess Amelie who he is expected to propose to. He is pressured into attending the event where he will meet the Princess, but he has no intention of marrying her.

Cat has to spend a week at the palace with the hope that she can be taught enough deportment, royal etiquette and everything she needs to know in order to convince people that she is really the Princess. Early on after her arrival, she goes for a swim in the ocean only to end up having to save two boys whose canoe had capsized. She is helped with the rescue by Alex. Neither know who the other is, but one thing they do know is that they are immensely attracted to each other.

You can imagine Cat's surprise when Alex arrives at the palace, days before the big event, and she learns that not only is he the King that Amelie is supposed to marry, but that he intends to stay in the palace rather than leave and return for the function. Their lust for each other is palpable, can they resist the temptation, what if Cat gives in but then later has to stand aside and watch the Princess marry him? Will she be able to give her body and possibly heart to Alex with him thinking she is somebody else?

This was such a fast-paced, fabulous story involving blackmail, deception, a lot of lust and steamy moments, all with the possibility of a fairytale ending. Both main characters have emotional baggage that they need to deal with, but it will be so much easier for them to manage that with each others' help. I love how they both fought giving into their lustful urges, and the utter relief they both found in each others' arms once they finally did. The story was intriguing, we were kept wondering 'til the last minute why the Princess fled the palace, and why the Prime Minister made it sound Cat would just be attending a small function in Amelie's place, rather than one that had much more significant connotations. This book definitely had all the ingredients for a story that I could not read fast enough to see what happened next.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers' copy of this book.1 Gwessie Tee452 14

The first book in a duo finds Cat duBois impersonating Princess Amelia, who is to be the arranged bride of King Alexander.  Cat is a bodyguard and is a family secret, she is the unknown and illegitimate sister to Princess Amelia and that is why they look a.  Cat and Alex meet before she fulfills the job of impersonating the princess really against her will, without him knowing, and the spark between them is amazing because she is so different from the Amelia he knew. Alex isn't used to dealing with such a strong women so this makes him question if she is really Amelia .  He is determined not to marry so it doesn't matter if she isn't the real thing. What happens when feelings change and he isn't so determined to not marry?  Not telling because its such a lovely story and a heroine not your usual.  I absolutely loved the story and Cat and Alex are amazing together. Ms. West again pens a fantastic story. Don't miss this one.1 Liba432 9

A bit of mystery.
Nameless king of St Galla has a daughter (Amelie) and a son (Michel). He has an affair with a maid, Catherine, who gets pregnant and married off to a baker.(I couldn't understand whether Dubois was her surname or that of her husband).A daughter is born, also Catherine, known as Cat. We learn that the king never met or acknowledged her, that her stepfather bullied the girl.Cat left St Galla at 18 and moved to USA,becoming an expert in martial arts and a bodyguard.
Meanwhile, the nameless king is dead. His son Michel and Michel's wife Irini are dead, too (we learn more about this in the second book, Amelie's story), leaving a small boy, Sebastian, behind.
Mr Barthe, St Galla's Prime Minister, wants Princess Amelie to marry King Alexander of Bengaria. But..
she is missing (again, see book 2-The Greek's Forbidden Princess). So Cat is asked (ordered?) to iumpersonate Amelie, as they are almost the same age (Cat is younger) and are lookas.Cat demands a lot of money foir that, being uncomfortable in the princess role.
Alex grew up as a prince, his father Cyrill being the Regent for his cousin Stefan.Cyrill was the younger son and resented being the regent. Stefan conveniently (?) died, making his corrupt uncle the king.Alex left Bengaria, moved to the States and became a pilot .3 years ago he became the King and needs to marry.
Alex meets Cat as she rescued a drowning teenager from the sea. When they meet again, both are surprised to see each other.Although Alex is more puzzled by the two names and eventually guesses there are two women...
I've read Amelie's story first ,so I knew what to expext.Absolutely loved the scene when Cat gets angry with the youth camp instructor for not having a swimming teacher there- she is indignant as a real princess !

His majesty’s temporary bride is the first volume of Annie West’s duet titled The princess seductions. Both volumes feature half-sisters. In this one, we meet Catherine “Cat” Dubois who knows about her filiation, which is not the case for her sister whose story will be told in The Greek’s Forbidden Princess expected in November 2017. Due to her ness with her sister, the Prime Minister of St Galla, Cat’s natal country, and where her half-sister is princess, asks Cat to take her place during an event planned from a long time. Indeed Amelia, Cat’s sister, has disappeared and no one knows where. Yet for political needs, the princess must be present. Not only for the event, but also because the Prime Minister hopes to finalize a marriage between her and king Alexander of Bengaria. However Cat doesn’t have this last information when she signs the contract, then it’s too late to go back on her decision.

When the story begins, we assist to a scene rarely seen in a romance (at least for me) and even less in this line: the heroine is doing Parkour. For those who donÂ’t know it, Parkour is a special sport imagined by the sportsman become actor David Belle, requiring flexibility, strength, speed, agility, dexterity, coordination, and balance. The goal is to run into the streets, to jump from one building to another without falling and never stop till the end. In France, itÂ’s the Yamakasi who revealed this sport to the general public in their movie in 2001, since then it travelled around the world. And so this is Cat doing this Parkour calmly. Later we learn sheÂ’s a bodyguard and she has good abilities in sport and fighting. So when she accepts to stand in for her half-sister I must admit I wanted to shake her. Not only Cat has her own life, but she also has an excellent reputation in her field, and really she has no reason to want to create links with a person who doesnÂ’t even know of her existence. Yet she decides to accept. And whatÂ’s more when she finds herself in her natal country, I didnÂ’t really recognize anymore the person described at the beginning of the novel; Cat had become vulnerable and let people walk all over her. However the more we go on in the story the more we learn why getting back to a country she left so long ago got her in a state. So we learn she needed this stay in St Galla to definitively put her past behind her and move forward.

Fortunately when she doubts about her capacities she has some bursts of pride where we recognize Cat the fighter. ItÂ’s in one of those moments that she meets the hero at the beginning, and from this second, even before being officially introduced, he calls her by her real name without knowing it.
Generally I donÂ’t really plots where thereÂ’s a concealment of identity, but Annie West succeeded in giving me an interest in her story, and we know why Cat must keep her secret. And itÂ’s revealed more quickly than we think and the second part of the novel focuses on the consequences of this story for the hero, just as his contradictory feelings for her, between treason and big attraction.

The attraction between our heroes is immediate and we believe in the evolution of the love story and its happy end. I really d Alexander and Cat. There are some love scenes (yes, IÂ’m always surprised there are so many in a HQN Present when we know that in the French version (collection Azur) they are the most cut scenes lol.)

His majestyÂ’s temporary bride is a very good HQN Present that I recommend. In this line Annie West is the author who surprises me more and more with each novel. Several years ago, when she began, her novels werenÂ’t as good and itÂ’s great to see the evolution in the writing and the stories.
I already have the sequel of this duet at home. ItÂ’s only waiting for me to read it. My review soon.

Little anecdote: Annie West draw inspiration from her stay in France this year (for the Festival du Roman Féminin in Paris) for the setting of her novel, very exactly her visit in St Jean Cap Ferrat. :-) Sally732 26

Annie West says in the introduction to one of her books, “I hope, me, you sigh with pleasure when you reach the final page.” Well, it’s even better than that. I sigh with pleasure when I first open one of her books, because I know what an incredible journey I’m going to take and how wonderful I’m going to feel when I get to that final page. I know there will be love and laughter, as well as sadness and tears, and I always, always, always get so caught up that I can’t put the book down until I get to the happily ever after.

His Majesty’s Temporary Bride is the first of two books in Annie West’s The Princess Seductions series. Cat Dubois is working in America as a bodyguard to the famous when she is approached by the St. Gallan Ambassador to the U.S. He wants her to stand in for her half-sister Amelie, Princess of St. Galla, who has mysteriously disappeared with her nephew after the death of her brother, the King, and his wife. As the secret illegitimate daughter of the previous King of St. Galla, Cat knows about Amelie, but they have never met and Amelie probably doesn’t even know Cat exists. St. Galla is not a place of happy memories for Cat; she couldn’t wait to leave after her mother’s funeral 10 years ago, but the payment offered by the Ambassador will let her realize a dream and is hard to resist, and something protective tugs at her heart – is her sister in danger?

Once Cat arrives in St. Galla things happen so quickly Cat is left breathless. First, she meets Prince Charming on a yacht. Well, he is as handsome as Prince Charming and the attraction between them is mutual - immediate and scorching. Then she learns that rather than merely standing in at a formal function, she is to meet King Alexander of Bengaria, who may be engaged to Princess Amelie. As for King Alexander, he has no intention of getting married yet, but was persuaded to attend the celebration in St. Galla. And – guess what? King Alexander is Alex, the man on the yacht. Alex doesn’t know that Cat is not Princess Amelie, she didn’t expect to have to pretend in front of a King, who just happens to be the man she makes her feel no man ever has, and the St. Gallan Prime Minister seems to have plans of his own for the future leadership of St. Galla.

While at this point we just want to watch Cat swoon at Alex’s bone-melting smile and see where this chemistry between them leads, it’s not going to be that simple. She doesn’t want to deceive him but has signed a contract and still doesn’t know if Amelie is in danger. He still doesn’t want to marry but doesn’t want to give up any time – and sizzling romance – with Cat. And they both bring a lot of baggage from their pasts with them. She can’t tolerate anything that is unfair, and is strong and independent in her fight against it. Alex’s father was deceitful and cruel, so he cannot tolerate deception. And since Cat is pretending to be Princess Amelie and King Alexander will surely find out eventually, where will this lead?

Where it leads is to another story from Annie West that is sensual, exciting, moving and heart-warming, with characters you care about – and some steamy scenes that keep you flipping those pages as fast as you can! As always, I highly recommend this and all books by Annie West, and I can’t wait to meet Princess Amelie in book 2 of The Princess Seductions series.

His MajestyÂ’s Temporary Bride, the first book in Annie WestÂ’s new duet, The Princess Seductions, is simply breathtaking. There is a perfect balance between angst, seduction and drama to keep you engrossed. Compelling from page one, His MajestyÂ’s Temporary Bride follows the journey between King Alexander, the enigmatic hero and Cat, a tough-as-nails bodyguard cum illegitimate princess and the heroine whoÂ’ll make this king weak in the knees. I loved how the author incorporated sparkly prose; scintillating chemistry and taut dialogue which keep the pacing of the story on a constant roll. I was also mesmerized by the layering of the backstories. It made the story enjoyable. Also the world building felt so realistic and the characters propelled the story forward.

Alex is broody, sexy and ridiculously rich and he doesnÂ’t mind pushing the boundaries to suit his liking. I wouldnÂ’t say I adored him every minute of the book, but heÂ’s charming and hilarious when he wants to be. Cat on the other hand is a breath of fresh air. Her unique personality makes you root for her instantly. Her emotional back-story is something else. She isnÂ’t someone whoÂ’d want you to pity her. But the lemons life has tossed her way makes your heart stir for her. Honestly, I adored her!

What I d about His MajestyÂ’s Temporary Bride:

1. The world building. I pictured Bengria in my mind throughout reading this book. Annie West sure does know a thing or two about adding spark to her fictional kingdoms.
2. The writing—it oozes with beauty.
3. The dialogue—Heated. Passionate. Engaging.
4. The characters—they drove the story forward with their antics.
5. The plot—character driven from start to finish.
6. The ending—wow, beautiful. All that angst, drama, and passion whittles down to a swoon-worthy end!

Overall, His MajestyÂ’s Temporary Bride by Annie West is excellence to the highest. I swooned over almost every scene where Alex and Cat locked horns. The story reminded me of the good old classic Harlequin Presents from the early 2000Â’s and I couldnÂ’t get enough of it! Now I canÂ’t wait to read Princess AmelieÂ’s love story in, The GreekÂ’s Forbidden Princess, the second book in the duet.

Annie West always brings so much heart and emotion to her stories. She helps you to feel what the characters feel and Cat and Alex in Her MajestyÂ’s Temporary Bride are no exception.
Cat Dubois is the secret illegitimate daughter of the now deceased King of St Galla and despite years of bullying and deception, Cat agrees to help pretend temporarily to be her half sister, Princess Amelie. Annie has a refreshing and unique heroine in Cat who is a professional bodyguard and despite her traumatic early years, has self belief and a sense of worth to assist her unknown sibling. She’s strong and determined, intelligent and ready to sacrifice herself for the greater good – yet totally unaware of her own slumbering sensuality and of how devastating forbidden attraction can be.
King Alex of Bengaria has wonderful depth and complexity, but his attentiveness and sensitivity to Cat once he overcomes his displeasure at what he perceived to be deception on her part made him a truly engaging character.
One of my favourite scenes is where Alex teaches Cat how to waltz by asking her to let herself go completely and trust him and then whisper into her ear that waltzing is making love. This man sizzles when he talks and the sensual chemistry between the two of them explodes off each and every page.
Annie did an excellent job building this story up. I was intrigued by these two character's story, invested in their relationship, and was hoping that despite the hiccups that Cat and Alex would find their happily ever after.
Annie West is a great storyteller and this story is no exception. I was immediately pulled in and could not put this book down. The chemistry between the characters is scorching and the storyline is one that will keep you turning the pages.

I’m a fan of royal romances – I enjoy reading them as much as writing them. And as I’m also a big fan of Annie West’s books, I couldn’t resist buying her latest book.

This is in some ways a story thatÂ’s been written often: dashing royal with a rakish edge falls in love with a mysterious common woman. That can be entertaining again and again, depending on what twists the author adds and what characters she chooses to bring to life. And West excels in both: I loved the heroine, Cat, because she came across as strong, independent and smart, and she does nothing without putting up a fight if she thinks itÂ’s unfair. Her tragic past and the way sheÂ’s reshaped herself and knows her strengths and weaknesses really spoke to me. As for King Alexander, he made me swoon and sometimes want to bash him over the head, he made me appreciate his single-minded determination and curse him for his tempting charm. I think the two were made for each other, and thatÂ’s exactly why the sizzling hot chemistry between them was believable.

If you enjoy royal romances or really any good story with hot-headed characters and emotional as well as hot scenes, then youÂ’ll this story as much as I did. Tonya Warner1,214 13

Cat Dubois has made a living standing up to bullies. Working as a bodyguard, she can pick and chose the jobs she takes. Her dream of creating a facility for children and teenagers to go to to learn skills is her goal. Returning to the country she never wanted to go to was never something she wanted. Especially having it take her in to the realm of her father's family. But the money she is offered to briefly portray her half sister, Princess Amelie, would make her dream come true. Little did she realize that dreams she had never dreamed of would come true too.

King Alexander of Bengaria was not ready to marry. An arranged marriage between him and the Princess Amelie of St Galla was not what he wanted, but the moment he met her. His Cat. He knew he had found the woman for him. But things are not as they seem. Finding himself a dupe in Cat's web of lies has him seeing red. But the more he gets to know the real Cat, the more he wants. Despite his anger and frustration, he wants her.

Very nice story. Well paced. Intriguing and heart warming. Linda1,805 36

Annie West's Harlequin Presents romances are fun to read. His Majesty's Temporary Bride is the first book in the Princess Seductions books. Things don't quite go as planned when Cat Dubois is paid to impersonate her half-sister, Princess Amelie. Cat is a professional body guard and nothing Princess Amelie (except for in appearance), but she can't resist the offer of money. When Cat is forced to keep up the charade in front of the man Princess Amelie is to become engaged to (King Alexander), things start to fall apart. But they have a strong attraction to each other and when they get to know each other better, there is hope for a happily ever after. This book was entertaining and I look forward to reading book 2.

This was a good book. Unfortunately I had started reading it and then misplaced the book before I could get back to it and then had to reread a little about it. Subterfuge is part of the equation in this book and she is pretending to be her half sister that knows nothing about her because the Prime Minister is manipulating wanting the King to marry the Princess. The Princess did a runner after her Father's death to try to stay out of the spotlight. There is a happy ever after and I believe another book so I need to go find that one. Enjoy.harlequin-presents Jacqui Leech23 4

In the interest of fairness I received an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.
Loved the story, reading about Alex and Cat and their interactions with each other was a game of tennis, only verbal. I went from liking Cat and loathing Alex and vice versa... I literally couldn't put the book down and in fact forgot to return a call. I really need to read Amelie's story now to see how she fares
A must read for anyone who s romance.

His Majesty's Temporary Bride
by Annie West.
Cat Dubois and King Alexander of Bengaria are the couple in the book.
Cat is hired to impersonate Princess Amelie of St Galla. Alexander can tell that she is not the princess.
they spend lots of time together and fall in love. I really enjoyed this book. I would recommend to anyone looking for a good book. Nicole Van Boxelaere16 3

Annie West is one of my most favorite authors who never disappoints her readers.
This story isn't an exception to the rule although she took me by surprise with this 'unusual' subject.
I really enjoyed the story as from the first chapter till the (unexpected) ending.

This is my honest review of an ARC received from the author. Joy495 1 follower

I found this on a list of romances that would appeal to fans of the Jamie / Brienne pairing from Game of Thrones, and I found that to be very accurate. The dynamic was quite similar. It was an enjoyable read. I'm not giving it the full five stars though because it did feel a bit rushed most harlequins. Nikki2,052 7

Not bad, but what is that title? It should be 'temporary fiancé' or something. d the heroine, hero was fine. Plot is very wishy washy. And the ending is just kinda eh. Read it if you got nothing else lined up. Fabiola ChenetAuthor 18 books31

Loved the book and the heroes. Lately, the author chose heroines with physical abilities, here she is a bodyguard. I loved that the hero meets the heroine when she is natural. Geraldine Sadiku1,508 50
