The Case of The Goodnight Gang is the first book in The Bow Street Runners, middle grade mystery series.

Grace Williams is new to town and is overjoyed when she meets some of the local kids her age.
The new friends are Sam who wants to become a detective, his cheeky younger brother Jack, their very diplomatic cousin Ella, Windy the tech-guru, straight talking and brave Jade, and of course clever Nitro the dog.

Sam & Jack's father is a local police detective and is busy investigating a string of local robberies when Grace and the friends stumble upon some weird goings on. At first they suspect that there are some dodgy dealings close by, but they have no evidence to go to the authorities with. Together they form The Bow Street Runners and decide to investigate further.
Despite covert surveillance and tech gadgets, it doesn't take long until the friends are in over their heads.

I thoroughly enjoyed the well drawn characters and fast pace of this terrific new mystery series.
