Things kick off right after the ending of book 1 and the insane/horrifying reveals.

Gino is Luna's biological father, and he knew all along and was trying to pretend his daughter was his dead ex-wife who she looks (her own mother) and he also is the reason why Tristan is who he is now.

He was handed over to Gino as a child to be tortured and created into a machine, but Gino did more than just torture him. He also raped him for years.

Listen, this is some dark stuff, and I really could not stomach it when things were revealed and when we were inside Tristan's mind. It's not a pretty place to be, his trauma and absolute hatred for Gino and being touched is heartbreaking.

Gino is the scum of the earth, he worse than anything you can possibly imagine, and this man has gotten away with things for too long. Part of me is really pissed Luca the mob boss just didn't kill him and left him alive for this long to cause so much harm.

In this book we see Tristan keep ''safe'' by keeping her in the cell that he himself uses to feel safe from the outside world. At first of course Luna is against everything and is not happy with the circumstances but once she finds out the truth about Tristan from his friend then things change, and she sees his intentions are as pure as it can be.

There is a lot of darkness surrounding both of them and Luna is in a lot of denial because of Tristan revealing that Gino is her father and all about how she came to be adopted and orphaned along with her younger brother.

We also know for certain from Tristan that he did kill the mother and she was his first kill that he was tasked to handle. This made me be able to find out their age difference and it has to be around 14 years.

Luna starts requesting more freedom and is left out of the cell, Tristan hesitates but he wants her, he wants her around and in his bed despite his feelings about being touched and slowly lets it happen.

The book ends with Luna finding out that Tristan was responsible for her mother’s death and right around the same time gets a message that causes her to freeze....

You know damn well Gino was behind that message!

This book was fantastic!! This is book two of a trilogy. Book one was a little slow but definitely had so much potential I was excited to see where this book went. All I have to say is it did not disappoint!! Everything about this book was great, the characters, storyline, flow of writing was all done very well. I’m excited to see what happens with book 3! 5 s Sheri Corriero450 8

Tristan is a dark and broken man due to past trauma. He is an enforcer/killer, whatever he is told to do by the boss. We met him and Luna in book 1. This book continues with Luna being his prisoner in a cage in a room in his house. She has no bed or chair. Only a blanket and the floor. He has taken her to protect her, against her will. She is frightened by him, of course. He seems so nice – making her dinner, bringing her own clothes and things to her. He has past trauma that makes it so that he cannot be physically touched. He can’t tolerate it. He has physical scars. He keeps his distance but eventually things turn as his feelings change for Luna. His emotional walls are slowly exposed and broken down painfully though the course of the book. There is violence in the book but not too graphic. There is some steaminess. I love Tristan and Luna. I love their story and how they come together. Luna is delicate with him and we see more to Tristan. I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait for the next one. I received an ARC copy from the author and this is my honest review. 2 s Bethany Pelayo67 1 follower

Tristan and Luna….

For someone who has been through so many horrible things, he is finding some peace. All the while when his guard is let down for a split second everything becomes jeopardized!

Luna is finding she is getting through to Tristan and becoming less afraid and learning to deal with her feelings. But she discovers a truth that she is nowhere near ready for..

This story drew me in and I couldn’t put it down!

I cannot wait for how the 3rd book!!.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.1 Tammy9,018 44

This is the second book in this trilogy and begins where the first book left off. In this read we learn more about who Tristan is and what made him the way he is. Luan and Tristan’s connection begins to grow as she learns more about him. Looking forward to finding out what happens next. I loved it. 1 Lizzie98 1 follower

First: Angel Rayne, you are a monster for that ending.
Second: This one was better than the first.

Tristan is a bad@ss with a horrific backstory and Luna is strong with a heart of gold. They belong together in every way but things/people keep popping up to try to ruin that.
