It was great hanging out with the Granby gang. The shorts stories were just what the holiday needed. BUT... I think it needed the two new characters that got a story and I really hope we seem more of them down the road. Gideon Haze and Pippen Madison. They needed to grow up some and the Granby gang helped them. They had such growth in their story, but it wasn't just their story, the rest of the gang had somethings to say too. And... Jeremy. It's always great to see him in the story. He has such a big heart.

This is a great collection of stories for the holiday. It's a must read. I think you could read it without reading the series, but you're going to want to go back and visit them. 2 s Jennifer R84 8

This is an excellent collection of stories to warm your heart for the holidays. I love the folks in Granby and it was great catching up with them. I re-read the entire series before starting this collection, since I read them all so long ago, but I don't think that was necessary, as there are enough refreshers to trigger your memory. With this collection, we get to celebrate some milestone events, which is always a treat, and watch them come together during some hardships. Plus, we get introduced to a new couple, Pippen and Gideon. After some carelessness on their part sets off an unfortunate chain of events, they try to make things right with Craw's clan. I loved seeing them embrace their second chance, the growth that results, and how they fit into this found family. I do hope it is not the last we see of Pip and Gideon, because I think there is more there to explore. All-in-all, a lovely collection of stories that fans of Granby are sure to love. 1 Ilana Pratt14

Weddings, Christmas, and such

I received a copy of this book for review purposes.

A set of stories from Granby, Colorado centering around the people of CrawDaddy Paca and the love and warmth and kindness that is grown, spun, and worked there. Some of them short, a top hem made of granny squares, each a snapshot of something the fans of the knitting critters wanted, or needed to see, each bringing us back to the homes, both collective and separate, that we saw knitted into being before.

A little bit of each of the lessons learned in the previous granby knitting books show up in these stories, and some new ones, showing our Granby Knitting Critters solid when a little christmas angel and his guardian hawk arrive, needing the lessons and the love that our favorite knitters learned.

This collection is a christmas quilt, and it warmed my heart just one too. GIve it a good look, maybe it will wrap your heart in warmth and comfort too!

The chicken in a Tuxedo on the front cover is fully explained, I promise.

Do you ever experience that feeling where you return somewhere and think, yeah, it was okay at the time but nothing special now? What about when you return somewhere and remember everything good about it, how it made you feel, the way it touched your heart and mind? Returning to Granby is definitely the latter – I only vaguely remembered Jeremy and Aiden until I started reading and my brain went ‘oh yes, happy place!’

Not that these stories are all happy – some of them are quite poignant, they remind us of a difficult time that the world went through, the struggles many are currently facing. But they also give us hope and faith that if we find our family – by blood or by choice – then we can make it out the other side.

I promised myself I was just going to read one of the short stories, and here I am at 6 am in the morning, sniffing away happy tears and writing these review whilst I still have all of those Granby feelings still in my heart. Having this now – for Christmas – may just be exactly what I needed to get me through the next few weeks, and I can only imagine the feeling is similar for so many other people. How Amy Lane continues to manage to rip my heart out with one hand, whilst giving me the mushiest love feelings of all time with the other is beyond me, but this book of stories is a perfect addition to Granby.

And, hey, if you can’t quite remember reading the Knitting/Crochet books, what better treat than to get them all for yourself in time for Christmas!

A Visit With Old Friends

That’s what this book feels – a visit with old friends. Since Lane’s first stories of Granby, Colorado, I’ve been hooked on these characters. Skittish Jeremy, trying desperately to be honest and stay in one place. Aiden, working hard to prove his love to Jeremy. Cranky Craw, who shows love in the most practical of ways. Stanley and Johnny, Ben, Ariadne and Rory and their daughter Persephone… all are here in a kind of further adventures collection. There are celebrations, a terrible fire, weddings, and a brand-new, standalone novel included.

Even if you haven’t read the Granby Knitting Series (4 short books!), you can learn enough from context to enjoy these stories. Highly recommended.

It has been several years since I read the four previous Granby books, so I re-read and loved them all again before starting this one. I believe you could enjoy these stories without having read the other books, but re-reading them made this one so much more special.

I loved seeing the whole crew again, especially Jeremy, Aiden, and Stanley. The wedding(s) were wonderful. The family feel was special, in both hard times and good times. And the new story brought us two wonderful new characters, Gideon and Pippen, but all of our favorites had plenty of page time as well. However, other reviewers, I need some follow-on stories about Gideon and Pippen spending more time with the Granby folks. favorite-author holiday humor ...more Zane Kage2,947 28

Oh, this collection of stories was EVERYTHING!!! The shorts catching me up with the Granby family were heartwarming and had me smiling the whole way through. And then the novel at the end, the new addition to the Granby family - Gideon and Pippen. By the time I was done I was 100 percent in agreement with Amy Lane that they ABSOLUTELY did need a book, and wow did I love the one they got. But now I'm going to need to know what happens to Gideon and Pippen next! Short stories and ficlets, please and thank you!

This is the Amy from when I first fell in love with the genre. This is the the type of story that has me hanging on every word. Five stars for a wonderful read and for all the wonderful feels.

I read through all of the Granby books before starting this one and it’s just lovely! I think Aiden and Jeremy stayed in all our hearts and it was wonderful seeing them again. Especially the wedding! But of course we don’t only see them again but also the whole Granby family. At the same time we got to meet two new parts to the family - no, not kids. Pip and Gideon are so sweet together and I’m happy they can now be part of their found family. Also: if you’re completely new to Granby Knitting it’s probably better you buy darn yarn and some needles beforehand… you’re gonna want to start knitting after reading, trust me.feel-good found-family small-town1 Rachel91 1 follower

It’s such a pleasure to be back with our Granby friends again! It’s also nice to have all the bonus material Amy has done on the Granby crew in one place! The main story can be read alone, but to really enjoy the shorts at the beginning, you’ll want to have read the other Granby Knitting books.

I feel Pip and Gideon’s story is done a bit of a disservice with this title because it’s such a lovely story of growing up and being strong enough to go for your dreams. Kathy Johnson386 7

This is a series of short stories with the characters from the Granby Knitting series. I loved hearing what was going on with my favorite characters from the series. The book also added some new interesting characters. These characters are so interesting, it was fun to catch up. A wonderful holiday book. T.A457

I love Granby

I loved revisiting the Grandby crew. I always smile though the last novel had new characters in it. Popped and Gideon fit in well in Granby. I’m glad they got their happy too.

But Dammit, I cried when I got to “And the Mountain Shall Crumble” The fire! my poor heart!!!amy-lane arc Lindsay Hardin679

This is a fun collection of short stories following the couples of Granby. It allows the reader to catch up with some of their favorite characters. It’s always nice to catch up with characters and see how their lives and relationships are progressing. Belinda Zamora1,493 8

This was a wonderful collection of shorts.
We get to catch up with the inhabitants of Granby and meet some new characters as well.
There's life updates, lots of love, laughter and some painful moments as well.
It was bittersweet being back in this amazing world. Joscelyn Smith2,006 16

This wonderful collection reminded me why I loved Granby. These shorts were the holiday catch ups I didn't know I needed, I really enjoyed seeing more of all of the wonderful Granby crew. Just a perfect holiday read.

Loved going back and reliving the stories and the characters from one of my favorite series "Granby Knitting Series." It was also fantastic that new characters were added to the family. I hope we get to see how Pip and Gideon's life unfolds. Definitely recommend reading. Kk1,818 14
