If the world ends in Ragnarök, no one will escape the flames.

Frankie has finally accepted her destiny as a Valkyrie with a talking cat. Developing the confidence to lead an army of battle maidens against hordes of draugr is a different beast altogether.

In order to stem the tide of Valkyrie deaths, Frankie needs to act. Odin's spies are closing in. Loki is lurking in the shadows, harrying her at every turn. And the queen of the underworld is creating hell on earth in Portland.

Hel and her undead soldiers aren't the only thing holding Frankie back, however. She's the only Valkyrie whose flying horse hasn't shown up. Without her battle mount, she worries no one will follow her and she won't survive Ragnarök.

This is the 3rd book in the Ghosts of Valhalla Series. When this book starts, Frankie is still waiting for her sister to wake up after the kidnapping and attack. Meanwhile, she is still dealing with her inner turmoil about not being good enough to b the First Valkyrie. She still has Hope and her little gang trying to undermine her at every turn. But after taking a trip where she feels pulled to the mountains, she discovers she does have what it takes and she just needs to find it in herself all the time.
There are secrets revealed, we get to meet more of Frankie’s ancestors and more battles with Hel and her draugr. Frankie is finally starting to step into her role and take more responsibility for herself and those she cares about. And even though she struggles with her mental illness and imposter syndrome, she perseveres.
Some questions are answered but there is just enough left unanswered that leaves me wanting to keep reading! I want to know what certain people are doing and wondering why they did it. What is Hope’s deal? Can Frankie handle the signaling of Ragnarok if it comes? I can’t wait to find out! Penny2,539 72

I’ve quite been enjoying this series, and I was glad to see this third book. One of the reasons I enjoy this is because the author treats mental illness with respect and how no one should think less of someone who is struggling with it. Anyway, poor Frankie is dealing with her self-doubt, and how she doesn’t feel she should be the First. In addition, she’s worried for her family, how she’s going to fight and defeat Hel, and her growing attraction to Dusana. While not much really happened to advance the story line, we do get to see some surprising revelations, character growth, and just some information in general. This is a well-written addition to the series with characters with depth, an engaging story line, and some touching scenes. Recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed. 1 Lin274 2

Frankie has some major growing to do. She doesn't believe in herself, she doesn't understand her place within the Valkyries, she doesn't know what she wants to do with Dusana, how she'll be able to face Hel, and she doesn't even have her sword. Frankie's story is just beginning. There's a lot that happens in this book, a lot of plot progression, and character development.
What I loved most was relationship growth, personal growth, descriptions that are vivid, and a fun to read battle. I want more. I *need* to know what's going to happen next. I'm glad for a couple of resolutions that came about in this book, but then there's a major twist that left me stunned! I didn't see it coming. At all.

This book sucked me in, kept me wanting more, and I read it in a day. I will have this stuck in my head for days. Yael128 3

This is a great addition to the series. We follow Frankie as she struggles with her self-doubt, and finally embraces her role as First, and understands that there are constructive ways to deal with her mental issues. We also get a glimpse at the role her sisters will be playing in the coming Ragnarok.
I enjoyed the development of the plot, and character growth in this well written installment. Can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

I received a free copy of this book and I’m voluntarily leaving a review Jodi Bennett510 4
