This book was very cute! What really drew me in was the adorable cover. The storyline was interesting, and it had some funny, laugh out loud parts which I did enjoy. I really d Preslee’s character and found her very relatable. This book was an easy, lighthearted, quick read. After I started this book, I realized this is book #4 in a series and I’ve never read any of the previous books but it still read just fine as a standalone novel. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a light read.

4th book in the series. Contemporary romance. Can be read as a stand-alone.
Preslee’s medical tests come back as pre diabetic. She needs to make a life style change immediately or go on medication. Not knowing much about the workout process, she heads to the local gym. Josh is enamored with Preslee’s beautiful face. He owns the gym and offers to train and coach Preslee on her health journey.

Cute story. The author is clear the workouts and diet change are health related and not simply weight management. I d the support Josh gave Preslee but had to wonder about the timing of the race. Events obstacle courses and team wall climbing challenges are generally not for amateurs. But maybe that’s just my own avoidance.
Bottom line, read it for the romance and relationship which was fun and steamy. Her dad was hilarious in teasing Josh.

This was one of those books that I really wanted to because as a more-than-plus-sized woman I am all about body positivity and self-acceptance. That's not what I found in this book. What I found instead was a lot of lip service being given to losing weight and getting fit for your own happiness, but in reality it's to get the guy. I also have a big problem with the amount of disordered eating that is present in this book that is never really addressed. Keeping a Twinkie in your car for a snack is one thing, but crash dieting, excessive exercise, and gaining 20 pounds in a month due to depression are just kind of brushed aside with a "well, that was a silly thing for me to do" attitude. All of these are serious undiagnosed issues, and I think the author missed an opportunity to promote positive mental health in these situations.

Also, this book was relentlessly predictable. I know it's a romance and that all romances follow a formula, but this one offered nothing original. I was rolling my eyes at all of the mixed signals and miscommunication between our leads. Seriously, nobody is that clueless.

I did enjoy the relationship between Preslee and her dad, and would have d to have seen more interaction between the two.

I d the story and the characters had chemistry with (for the most part) wonderful personalities.
My big downer is the same one I have with every plus size MC.
She needs more confidence. I want a curvy lady who isn't ashamed of her body or trying to lose weight in order to be more desirable. I have yet to come across a plus size characters who has all the confidence and bravado that most curvy ladies have in real life...or should have if they don't.
