Wow. Smart brilliant FMC who is weak as shit.

So utterly disappointed in this book. While its story is great, I hate hate hate how weak, gullible and pathetic the FMC. She is smart, brilliant at her talent, but really letting your husband take everything from you, ruin your career, then when you divorce him, not get alway clean? Still let him dictate your career?

I would have been okay with all that, but the author didn't toughen her up. She still need her old boyfriend, also someone who treated her shit to clean it all up and make it better. Wow. Wow. I stopped reading at that point. Oh everything is great and fine now, one big happy family. Bullshit. The FMC is still weak, never getting smart enough to get her own shit sorted relying on smart tough men to help her and her daughter. Bullshit. Complete bullshit. Author you ruined a smart and capable women by making her a damsel in destress and a poor poor example to her daughter.2 s BP345,901 37

Ainsley and Beckham were an item while in college at MIT. He dumped her on graduation day. She remained at MIT as a professor and had one of the smartest tech brains. For the past ten years Beckham was working at the family tech business when they developed a major problem they couldn't fix. His dad insisted they contact Ainsley. She's stubborn, obnoxious but a brain and the only person who can fix their problem. He's a grump and not d by most of the staff. Their banter is hilarious at times and the chemistry is still there. What happens when she solves their problem along with his problem? A great second chance romance that will grab your attention right at the beginning and hard to put down. As usual Ali Parker doesn't disappoint. Another great book and a good start to a new series. I read an advance copy via the author and voluntarily chose to review it.1 Kristen Lewendon7,755 48

The sweetness of that ending has pretty much wiped every other thought I had about this book right out of my head. It’s a second chance romance, redeeming enemies to lovers, with a great big heaping pile of family drama thrown in. Some of that drama Beck and Ainsley create for themselves, but there’s lots of other people in their lives complicating the situation. My heart went out to these two. Even though Beck makes some extremely poor choices in the way he handles situations, I could empathize with his perfectionist’s soul. And, watching Ainsley work so hard to achieve career success while also being a good mom and having a life of her own, made me admire her tenacity. I adored the way it works out in the end. Now that it’s over, I’m reluctant to say “goodbye” to these characters.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author.1 MJM1,576 10

Ainsley Maxwell met Beckham St. Clair on her first day on the course when she ended up sitting next to him in class. Beck was gruff and grumpy but also so HOT and could be so sweet with her. Maxwell was someone that Beck was drawn to a moth to a light. They were so different but also both brilliant in their line of study. But she ended up being top of the class and that ended their romance. DEAD. She was heartbroken at his immature behaviour but had to move on with life. She married Roy [a disaster] except that she became pregnant with their little girl, Luna, who is the light of her life. Roy almost destroyed her career because of jealousy and they divorced and she ended up working as an assistant to one of their professors until she received a phone call one day. It was Beck's father basically begging her to come and save the St. Clair company's reputation in building a piece of tech that will make life so much safer for people. Beck does not want Maxwell there at all as he is a very unhappy man with no friends. Beckham Senior encouragers her to stay for a month as he knows that if anyone can fix the chip, it was be her. As you can imagine with any book by Ali Parker, the characters are going to be 3- dimensional, fun, s@xy and very likable but also they have to work through their issues of his lack of trust, her ex's having some shares in her company, child care agreements and can Maxwell and Beck keep their hands off each other! Luna is a fabulous surprise to Beck that all helps towards his metamorphosis of becoming the wonderful man that he has been all along. How can Maxwell resist him? This is a funny and loving story. I really enjoyed how Luna's presence made such an impact in the storyline - with her making a new best friend and her mother becoming Maxwell's BF too! I'm not sure that I understand why Ainsley married Roy? Having said that, I think this is one book to enjoy reading - |I know that I'd have loved to work in such a workplace setting! I received a reader's copy of this book and voluntarily leave my honest opinion of it here. Most definitely recommended. Lisa285 3

I thoroughly enjoyed this story of Ainsley and Beck. It’s part second-chance romance, it’s part enemies to lovers and maybe even a little bit about the underdog getting her dues. Ainsley and Beck met in college and fell in love during that time. Beck was grumpy and difficult in college but Ainsley saw the softer side of him. After Beck was a complete a$$ to her at graduation, they break up and go their separate ways.
Beck goes home to work for his father’s super successful tech company and Ainsley stays on the East Coast to find her own way.
Fast forward years later – Ainsley is a single mom to adorable 4-year-old Luna and working at MIT after having the rug pulled out from underneath her by her now ex-husband and Beck is now running the company his father started. Beck is in the final stages of releasing some new tech that will change the industry when there is a big problem….and no one can figure out what/how things went wrong. Beck’s Dad is convinced that only one person is smart enough to find their issues and fix them and that is Ainsley. His Dad calls her and convinces her to come to the west coast to help them.
Seeing each other again, brings up old memories and old hurts but also new memories and new sparks. Ainsley sees a side of Beck that no one sees and with the help of Luna, brings out a side of Beck that few have rarely seen. The more time they spend together, the more they begin to realize those feelings from college are still there. But there are so many obstacles they will need to overcome is this new-found relationship will have a chance at succeeding.
Their relationship is fantastic – the back and forth banter adds another element of fun to the overall story.

A Second Chance With A Few Twists

A second chance, college young love story with a twist or two after ten years. Beckham St Clair and Ainsley Maxwell have history, some good and some heartbreaking. Beckham needs help when his prototype Firewall chip explodes during the final test at St Clair Technologies and Design and his only hope is his college ex Ainsley... Good thing his father has a better mindset and personality. Ainsley is a divorced single mom of four year old Luna and is working as an assistant to a professor at MIT Massachusetts. With all the animosity from their graduation break up ten years ago the chemistry and what ifs are just as strong as it used to be. Luna is a shinning star and a great ice breaker and undoubtedly the one to break Beck out of his grumpy attitude that all others fear...except her mom. Time is of the essance for the chip and Ainsley's time in San Francisco. Just when things are right with their tech world and personal issues, the past in the form of Ainsley 's ex comes to implode everything. Will Beck fight for Ainsley and his heart this time around or loose her forever, because this time there's also a little ray of sunshine that also holds has heart.

A wonderful story that you won't be able to put down till the end. If you a grumpy CEO that melts for a bright and smart four year old and her mother...look no further. Great characters, no cliffhanger, no cheating, witty comebacks and a love that still burns with a HEA. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book and happily added it to my favorites collection. Looking forward to Ali Parker's next story. Gloria325 1 follower

Grumpy boss and the woman he left behind

Beckham and Ainsley were college sweethearts. When she was selected to be valedictorian at the MIT graduation, Beckham felt it should have been him. He was rude and condescending to her after her speech. He stormed off and never looked back.
Ten years later, his father, Beckham Sr. called Ainsley to use her brains and skills to find out what happened to the chip that Beckham crested.
Ainsley is working with the head professor at MIT in Boston.
She is divorced and has a four year old daughter, Luna.
Ainsley goes to San Francisco to help out. She has to find out what went wrong. Why it caught on fire? If anyone can figure it out, it's Ainsley.
This grouchy boss hasn't changed. When things didn't go his way, he would blame everyone.
Ainsley has had enough with men. Her ex-husband took her first creation and basically stole it from her. While she was pregnant, she divorced him.
Finally, Beckham gives in and gives her control of his lab. Her daughter takes to him. She is a sweet little girl. She slowly melts his cold heart. She invites him to go for pizza with her and her mom.
Great story of two people who have this strong attraction and history of being in love. Can they get through this process and find love again? Or will her ex cause problems for the two of them.
Another great love story by Ali Parker. Kept me reading till the end. Josie85 Read

We have all once in our lives worked a boss that was always grumpy. But were they hot at the same time? I wish...

But Ainsley knew Beckham (Beck) back when he was grumpy but not a boss, yet.

So what happens when your boyfriend is jealous of you? When good things happen to you, he thinks it should have been him? What happens when he tells you this, right to your face? After you just gave your valedictorian speech? You turn away and never look back.

Beak came from money and knew where his career was going to go. He was going to take over his father's tech company. And he thought he was the best and smartest. But when his girlfriend was given what he thought should have been his, well things don't always go as planned.

Fast forward 10 years. Beck is running his father's company and Ainsley, who had one of the best minds for technology, is working for her profession at the university she went to. How did she end up there?

When Beck's newest chip failed in its final testing before being launched, his father called Ainsley to help bail them out. Was that the only reason he called her?

There is so much going on in this book, that you just have to read it to find out what happened and why. Who all the other players are and how they fit in. You will love this book. I promise.

Beckham is intolerable. Can Ainsley forgive him?

Beckham is so jealous of Ainsley becoming valedictorian that he starts a fight with her on graduation day, telling Ainsley it should’ve been him, he should’ve been made valedictorian. This takes the winds out of her sails, makes her cry, and destroys their relationship. It’s 10 years later and Beckham‘s father asked Ainsley to come help them with their chip design. When the book starts, you feel you are in a tornado of emotions and all of them are bad. Beckham is written so dastardly that you don’t think he can ever change. Sweet, honest, lovable, smart Ainsley has her work cut out for her so Beckham will realize there’s more to life than work. Has he not learned anything from his mistake 10 years ago? He needs a personal life and he wants that to include Ainsley, and her daughter, Luna. A really, really good book with two people realizing their faults their strengths and their weaknesses and putting them aside so they can have their happily ever after. So good. K B2,224 12

I received a free copy of the steamy Silicon Valley-based novel Bad Mood Boss: Grumpy Billionaire Bosses Book one: Beckham and Ainsley by Ali Parker and this review was given freely.

The St. Clair Technologies and Designs campus sounds amazing!

Vivid descriptions, realistic characters, a fair amount of strife, and a heartwarming ending fill the pages of this steamy East Coast- West Coast novel where a firewall chip failure, interfering parents, and cute four-year-old Luna bring MIT graduates and lovers together ten years after a bad breakup.

Contains an homage to the good and bad of blended families.

When his fledgling release as the new owner of the family’s tech business, St. Clair Technologies and Designs or SCTD, fails days before its launch, the abrasive, self-entitled and work-focused Beckham St. Clair must put aside his anger and arrogance to ask former MIT valedictorian now single mother and professor assistant, Ainsley Maxwell for help. I am voluntarily leaving this review. This is a great book to the start of another series by Ali Parker. Have your tissues handy, cause you will definitely need them, at least I did! The storyline is great, the main characters were perfect, there was the right amount of drama/conflict and the supporting characters were great!

Ainsley and Beck have a history that left them on enemy level status for ten years. When things go wrong for Beck at work, he is encouraged by his father to call up his past love and ask for her help. Will she be able to save his work and tame the grump he has turned into, or will her past be the reason they will never have a second chance at love?

I loved this book and I cannot wait to see what else Ali Parker has in store for us with this series! I couldn’t put this book down!arc- Janet Simmons716 2

Beck should be on meds for his wild mood swings. His employees avoid him at all costs, most of them are afraid of him. When something bad happens at work and no one can fix it, Beckham Sr knows who to call.
He tells Beck he has contacted Ainsley and it is up to him to get her to seal the deal. She is the only one smart enough to fix this and he knows it, even tho she is his ex.
I loved this book, it's great that the smartest person in the room is a woman for once, even tho he's the billionaire. Once I started reading I couldn't stop so I read it in one sitting. It is a standalone because it's #1 in the series it's an easy read and HEA. You won't be disappointed if you second chance romance Cyndie Tomkins510

2nd chance

What a great start to a new series!!!Beck and Ainsley had dated back in collage, but he broke up with her their last day. Fast forward to present, Beck needs help with his chip product. His father gets ahold of Ainsley. She is now divorced with a sweet girl and an ex husband trying to destroy her success. Can they work together to fix the problems with his chip, can they get past their or rather her hurt from the break up. I suggest have kleenex at the ready, and be prepared for some good crying. I love how Ali brings all the characters to life in her books, and how invested I get while reading her books. I hope you enjoy.
Looking forward to the next book in this series

Second Chance?

Beckham has a big problem. The new project that’s supposed to put him on the map has gone up in flames, literally. His newest microchip has burst into flames and the only person that anyone thinks can save the project is the last person he wants to ever see again. It’s time for some humble pie.

Ainsley was the valedictorian at their MIT graduation and Beckham thought it should be him. He let her know and that was the end of them. Unfortunately for her, she made another poor decision in her ex-husband, her daughter’s father, who also did her wrong. When Beckham’s father calls and asks her to come and work for the company to try and save the project, she’s hesitant. But this may be her chance to get back into the tech field, her first love. You don’t want to miss this book!!! Ali brought her A game with this one. Ainsley and Beck were in a relationship during college. When Ainsley was named valedictorian Beck felt cheated because he wanted to be it. When he says things after graduation, they part ways and it isn’t on good terms. Ainsley goes on to marry and have a child only to end up divorced. Beck takes the reins of his family’s tech company but when his latest project blows up in his face his father calls on the only person, he knows that can figure out what to do and that just happens to be Ainsley.
This was a great storyline with amazing characters and vivid details. Of course, it sure doesn’t lack in steam. I loved every page and I was honored to receive an arc copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving my review.

A second chance romance, and an enemies to lovers story about Beck and Ainsley. I’m not a big fan of second chance romance any more. I think iI feel too emotional when they break and sometimes it’s for many years but even though I tend to look for other troupes I couldn’t miss a book by this author and I was glad I didn’t miss it. This story is filled with complications and some sadness but a lot,of family drama to last a lifetime. Beck and Ainsley seem to bring out the worst in each other at times but also have some other people in their lives that don’t want to see them happy. You can’t help but wish this couple together and root for their happiness. A good, solid read that left me feeling happy. Jennifer Soppe2,248 12

Turned a frown upside down

Ainsley, a professor’s assistant at MIT, has spent the last ten years trying to forget all about Beckham, CEO of the family tech business, for dumping her in the most spectacular fashion on the day they graduated from MIT. As the story progresses a piece of humble pie is served, the tension leaves them unnerved, and playing the injured party is not reserved. Ali Parker turned a frown upside down in Bad Mood Boss. These characters played on my emotions and wormed their way into my heart.

I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not. Donita Jones1,134 9

BAD MOOD BOSS A Grumpy Billionaire Boss Novel by Ali Parker

This is the start of another entertaining series by Ali Parker. Once again she's off and running with it very successfully. This second chance romance has plenty of angst, drama, witty banter, great characters, a delightful little girl named Luna, add redemption and it is very pleasing. Beckham and Ainsley have a deep history from when they were at MIT that destroyed their relationship on graduation day. Ten years later, Beckham Sr. decides to call her as she is needed to help solve a devastating problem with the family tech business that is in Silicon Valley. Beckham Jr. is NOT pleased. Wow, a grumpy boss with a second chance at love?

Beckham and Ainsley were in love in college, until her destroyed it all. He’s a grumpy billionaire boss, for sure. Ainsley is asked by Beckham’s father to pull them out of jam. Can they both pull it together and let bygones be bygones? Beckham is the one that needs the forgiveness. Can he ever change? This story is full of angst, banter, misunderstandings, guilt, intensity, steam and love, and so much more! Love these characters a lot. Al Parker’s writing holds your attention throughout this book.

What a story! I wanted to slap Beckham quite a few times and let’s not talk about Ray! Ainsley could really pick a guy. Both guys really knew how to treat her crap and she kept being the bigger person to both of them. I don’t know if I could be quite so forgiving. In the end, the guys do find a conscious and end up with some pretty redeeming qualities. The storyline is pretty current and only makes me wish this wasn’t fictional because we could really use some of the technology they are creating! Fantastic read! Pamela Lunder1,557 1 follower

This book was a great start for a new series. I really enjoyed it! Ainsley is just a single mom trying to make a life for herself and her daughter. When she was given the chance to do some good with her teck skills. But then there was grumpy Beck. The man she would be working for, her ex. I loved how everything played out but felt so bad for Ainsley and how she had to deal with two ex's that didn't seem to want what was best for her. Then throw in the sweet little Luna, I loved her! This book is a very good read! I look forward to reading more in this series! Mindy Lopez1,671 11

This is a heartfelt second chance romance between former college sweethearts, Beckham and Ainsley. These flawed characters are likable, the connection strong, the chemistry combustible, and the unique plot makes for an enjoyable read. Once they reconnect, it is a bumpy ride with some steam, drama, humor, family dynamic, twists and turns, and engaging secondary characters to keep the reader interested. A sweet love story.

Ainsley and Beck were in love when they were in college at MIT. When Ainsley got Valedictorian Beck got so jealous he dumped her. 10 years later Ainsley is a divorced mother of a 4 yo girl. Beck needs her help
To solve the problem of his latest tech project. He hires her to be the brains to fix it. She forgives him and they have sex which leads to more. Honestly this was not a smooth book. The transition from ex lover hate to love you again was choppy and not a natural progression. I skimmed a lot…3 s Jocelyne4,198 17
