Sinopsis

Ten clans live on the island nation of Dorohin, ?with the power to transform into reptilian titans. Dragons rule at the top of the hierarchy. Meanwhile, the jealous Ryu clan slowly takes over more and more territory, seeking after a throne which was once rightfully theirs.

Caught in between their struggle is Iris, an ordinary human girl of a lesser clan as well as a street urchin struggling to survive. A Plague in the land has recently stolen her mother from her and left her orphaned. However, one day when her life is threatened, she discovers she is in fact not ordinary, but a half-Dragon shapeshifter known as a Wyvern. Wyverns are favored by the Dragon clan, but also serve as a living buffer between them and the Ryu clan's aggression. Following the incident, a foreign woman finds Iris and offers her an amazing salvation from her struggles - The Wyvern lord Senbi is aging and childless, and he needs a mature heir of Wyvern blood sooner rather than later. Iris can escape her destitute life as long as she pretends to be Senbi's successor.

There's a catch, though. Senbi rules the city of Sagesse, the last stronghold preventing the Ryu clan from launching a full-scale attack on Dragon territory. The region is under imminent threat from invasion, and Iris is hardly welcome as an illegitimate child whose mother hails from a lesser clan. To Iris, though, anything is better than a life on the streets. In Sagesse, she will not only learn to master her Wyvern form, but may turn out to be the missing piece needed to hold back the tide of war.
